Grand Balcon Nord

A few weekends ago now, we went to Chamonix to check out Mont Blanc. We were lucky to get perfect weather and flawless visibility from the Aiguille du Midi.

From Aiguille du Midi, we took the lift back down to Plan de l'Aiguille, and walked along the Grand Balcon Nord to Montenvers, where there was a spectacular view of the Mer de Glace glacier. The walk turned into a bit of a rush at the end when, still a good distance from the train station, we could hear announcements saying that the last train down to Chamonix was about to depart. Luckily we made it on time!
